Wills and Estates
– Wills and estates
We manage estate and inheritance issues with expertise in matters relating to foreign-domiciled decedents who have left assets in Israel. We assist in obtaining probate orders, drafting wills, and managing estates, as well as representing beneficiaries in inheritance proceedings in family court and in all other relevant tribunals.
We provide legal advice to those wishing to write wills and to beneficiaries as well as to foreign beneficiaries of estates, who are sometimes surprised to learn that they are the recipients of an inheritance in Israel.
Additionally, we assist in releasing long-neglected estate property held by various government agencies such as by the administrator general (Ha’Apotropos Ha’Klali). We also have experience providing various types of information requested by Israel’s Inheritance Registrar (Rasham HaYerusha) in complex inheritance cases; these include obtaining various Holocaust death records and obtaining property deeds from British Mandated Palestine as well as various U.S. documents from the distant past.
